Pickaxes are tools used to mine blocks into items. They cannot remove walls (this requires a hammer instead), nor cut down trees (which requires an axe). Some pickaxes have drill counterparts that will mine faster, but with reduced range.
Every pickaxe has its own pickaxe power which determines which ores can be mined. Additionally pickaxes are often crafted using various bar items.
